System lockdown: Ensuring the security of the supply chain

October 16, 2019 | 0730 - 0900

ABOUT

As Army looks to modernize, and as military systems grow more complex, prime contractors are relying more heavily than ever before on components from an extensive global supply chain. With that multitude of systems and providers comes increasing security vulnerabilities: Are all components sourced through proper channels? Are proper security protocols being followed in manufacturing and data management? And do the prime contractor and defense customer have the systematic checks in place to ensure the authenticity of systems, the integrity of the design, and ultimately the safety of the war fighter? And can the speed of innovation keep pace with our ever evolving needs?

This panel will dig into the challenges and strategies for ensuring the security of the supply chain, spotlight the gaps that exist in the current process of acquisition and development, and define the proper roles and responsibilities for all tiers of the vendor community – including commercial providers – as well as the military buyer.

*DUE TO INCREASED SECURITY MEASURES, ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE REGISTERED FOR AUSA ANNUAL MEETING AND HAVE THEIR BADGE TO ACCESS THIS PANEL DISCUSSION.*
