Program

In recent years, missile defense has been tackled by the Pentagon as a provocative if not speculative priority, anchored in deterrence much like the country’s strategy for nuclear modernization. But as the threat has evolved and as adversaries have grown more audacious, the immediate need for a defined strategy from the Pentagon has emerged.

Defense News will host a panel discussion of missile defense leaderships and experts ahead of the SMD Symposium, on the state of missile defense today, looking at the following:

  • How the Pentagon will execute against the Missile Defense Strategy
  • The evolving threat – from short- and long-range ballistic missiles to cruise missiles
  • Priorities in procurement of modern technology capabilities
  • Efforts among Western allies increase cooperation to establish a united front against common adversaries in Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Korean peninsula.
