JADC2 aims to bring all of the armed forces under a single operational umbrella, allowing soldiers on the ground, pilots in the air and sailors at sea to share real-time information and work seamlessly to achieve mission goals. But doing so is a massive undertaking, requiring a complete overhaul of each service’s data infrastructure and a unified command and control structure. In this Removing Stovepipes, Defense News and C4ISRNET will look at where the JADC2 initiative is now, the challenges it faces in 2022 and what major milestones remain on the journey to implementation.
