Battle management is no longer a future capability, it's an operational requirement across today’s Army formations. From homeland defense to maneuver, fires, intelligence, and forward operations, units are facing mission challenges that demand faster decision-making, resilient data exchange, and the ability to act across distributed, contested environments. Meeting this need means moving beyond pilots and prototypes toward fielded, interoperable systems that work with what the Army already owns. Open architectures and the right to integrate and repair are accelerating how quickly new capability reaches soldiers, while technologies such as AI-enabled decision support, autonomy, sensor fusion, and edge computing are reshaping how the battlespace is managed. This shift requires moving from managing systems to orchestrating systems, and integrating technology with the mindset of how to orchestrate the fight to meet the future speed of battle.
