Reliable, robust command and control systems are critical to modern military operations, so they must be tested to ensure they can meet the demands of their use and attempts to disrupt them.
The Department of Defense mandates automated testing of these systems whenever possible, but that also creates challenges. Testing that is disruptive or invasive can interfere with operations, while testing that does not include evaluating usability or basic functionality can miss things that interfere with a human’s ability to use the systems. To combat that, testing must be comprehensive to ensure that command and control systems are reliable, resilient, usable and secure.
In this webcast, C4ISRNET will examine the challenges of testing command and control systems, including how to test systems without disruptions, what to look for in testing parameters to ensure usability and how to use testing data to improve reliability, usability and security.
