< p style =”color:#000000;”>Colonel Frank J. Lozano is from Seguin, Texas and received his Commission from Texas A&M University in 1993 into the Armor Branch. COL Lozano completed the Armor Officer Basic Course and was assigned to 1st Squadron, 1st U.S. Cavalry, 1st Armored Division, in Frankfurt, Germany. He served as a Tank and a Scout Platoon Leader, and Cavalry Troop Executive Officer. After completion of the Armor Officer Advanced Course, he was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 7th U.S. Cavalry, 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized), at Fort Stewart, GA as the Assistant Squadron S-3, Squadron S-4, and Commander of both A Troop and Headquarters Troop.
Colonel Lozano assessed into the Army Acquisition Corps in 2003 and graduated with an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. He served with Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Grand Prairie, TX as part of the Training With Industry (TWI) program.
< p style =”color:#000000;”>After completion of Command and General Staff College, Colonel Lozano was assigned as Assistant Product Manager for Project Manager Soldier Weapons, PEO Soldier. Then assigned as an Ammunition and Demolition System Acquisition Manager for the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and the Army Research Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM).
< p style =”color:#000000;”>In 2008, Colonel Lozano was assigned as a Department of the Army System Coordinator (DASC) for Tactical Missile Systems and Ballistic Missile Defense Systems. Colonel Lozano was selected to be the Military Assistant for Acquisition to the Army’s Vice Chief of Staff, GEN Peter Chiarelli. As the Military Assistant, he provided insight, advice, and counsel on Army acquisition programs crossing many different functional capability areas.
< p style =”color:#000000;”>Colonel Lozano commanded the Product Management Office (PMO) for Soldier Protective Equipment (SPE), PEO Soldier. In 2014, he was assigned to the Joint Staff, J-8 Capabilities and Acquisition Division.
< p style =”color:#000000;”>Colonel Lozano’s operational and combat experience include deployments to Bosnia, Kuwait and Iraq. Colonel Lozano’s awards and decorations include the Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, the NATO Service Medal, the Army Staff Identification Badge, and the Joint Staff Identification Badge. He is certified in Program Management; Contracting; System Research; Planning and Engineering; and System Test career fields.
< p style =”color:#000000;”>He is married to the former Anne E. Yesconis of Dallas, TX and has three children: Olivia (18), Jackson (15), and Nicholas (11).
